About us

Who are we?

The Personal Accounts Delivery Authority (PADA) is a non-departmental public body (NDPB) accountable to Parliament and reporting, through a Board, to the Secretary of State for the Department for Work and Pensions.

Our job is to set up a national, trust-based pension scheme called NEST (National Employment Savings Trust)NEST is the new name for the personal accounts scheme. Personal accounts was a working title set out in the Pensions Act 2008 and was not intended to be the permanent name for the scheme. Throughout this site you will still find reference to personal accounts in documents produced before January 2010. that will help millions of people on low and moderate incomes, who do not have access to a good-quality workplace pension, save for their retirement.
